To add a shape, simply select and tap on a shape from the shapes library.
The shape stencil will then appear on the canvas. You can then outline the shape stencil using your preferred tool. Or you can always use the stamp icon which will appear on the bottom of the screen with the stencil to Stamp your shape stencil using the currently selected brush and the active color.
